The SSC Ultimate Aero TT has a 1,183 hp engine and seems to beat Bugatti Veyron, which was declared the fastest car in the world.

The official records were of 242 mph registered by Koenigsegg CCX and 253.4 mph registered by Bugatti Veyron.
Now seems that the American car is the official champ at speed record.
