Opel Insignia and Chevrolet Cruze in Europe next year
General Motors Southeast Europe, the importer of Opel and Chevrolet in Romania, will launch next year on the Romanian market Opel Insignia, the following average class model Vectra and Chevrolet Cruz, his replacement Lacetti, according to the company.
Opel Insignia will be available in sedan and hatchback version, Berlin will measure 4.83 meters long.
The new Opel will be available with front or integral traction. Optional offers FlexRide system (electronic control suspension) and Adaptive 4×4 (traction system with integral electronic management).
Insignia will offer seven engines, four gas, 1.6 liters (115 HP), 1.6 Turbo (180 HP), 1.8 liters (140 HP) and 2.8 V6 (260 HP), such as diesel and three 2.0 liter, direct-injection, with powers of 110, 130 and 160 HP.
The model will be sold on the market in the UK under the Vauxhall logo in the United States as a successor model of the Saturn Aura.
Chevrolet Cruze will be available in Europe since March 2009, at a price which will be announced later.
The car will be available with two gas engines, 112 HP 1.6 liter, 140 HP 1.8 liter turbo diesel and a 2-liter 150 HP. Manual transmissions will be five to six degrees, but will be available an automatic box, completely new.
Chevrolet Cruze will be about 4.60 meters in length. The new model will be built in Ohio (USA) and St. Petersburg (Russia).
GM is present on the Romanian market with a representative office of General Motors Southeast Europe in 1997.
General Motors Romania, general importer of Opel and Chevrolet brands, had a market share of 9.17% last year and 6.5% in 2006.
